The award winners of Liga Portugal Youth

Capendja named Player of the Tournament, Ruben Contreras Top Scorer, and Alex Demianciuc Goalkeeper of the Tournament

Over the past three days at Estádio do Bessa Séc. XXI, we witnessed the Talent That Will Mark the World. Sporting CP made history by becoming the champion of the first edition. Vitória SC won the Youth Prize, a trophy for the teams that finished third in their respective groups in the first phase of Liga Portugal Youth. But there are more names that will surely be remembered.

Capendja from Sporting CP won the award for Player of the Tournament. The number nine of the Lions was crucial in their title win, scoring five goals and earning the Man of the Match award twice.

Regarding goals, the spotlight is on Ruben Contreras from Real Betis Balompié, who, with six goals, became the top scorer of the tournament, helping the Andalusians to secure third place on the podium.

While scoring goals is crucial for determining the winner, keeping the net secure is equally important. In this regard, Alex Demianciuc from FC Porto stood out the most, being absolutely decisive for the Dragons in the knockout phase, especially in penalty shootouts. The goalkeeper saved three penalties in the quarter-finals, an equal number in the semi-finals, and one more in the final.
