The Fulham FC head coach was the Liga Portugal Ambassadors' choice to win the prize for February
Marco Silva, manager of the English Championship side, Fulham FC, won the "Talent that Marks the World" award for February.
The Portuguese coach has won four of the five games played during this period, in a league traditionally known for its high level of competitiveness. Millwall, Hull City, Peterborough United and Cardiff City were the clubs Marco Silva faced and defeated, with an overall record of eight goals scored and three conceded.
When receiving the award, the 44-year-old coach, who has returned to English football this season, with Fulham FC currently sitting at the top of the league table with an eight-point lead over the second-placed team, stressed the work and the performances that his players have been displaying, claiming that it is with great pride that he receives this award.
"First of all, I would like to thank those who voted for me, especially because it is always important to receive these types of awards. For us coaches and players, the main goal will always be to achieve collective success, so all the prizes we win throughout the season will only really matter if we achieve that common goal. This is what truly matters, and every individual award will always be a consequence of good teamwork", said Marco Silva, before highlighting the importance of these awards.
"I can only be grateful and say that I am truly proud, especially for being given this prize by individuals who know football well, who have dedicated their lives to football and know how difficult it is to succeed at this level. I'd also like to thank Liga Portugal, who have been very attentive to everything that's going on, not only in Portuguese football, but also in regard to all the players and coaches who are working abroad, so naturally, I'd like to thank them", he concluded.
It should be remembered that this award highlights the already-vast number of players and coaches whose talent has sparked off in Portuguese Professional Football, through a vote carried out by the Liga Portugal Ambassadors.
