Sporting CP wins the second edition of the Liga Portugal Legends

After a two-all draw, the Lions beat SC Braga in the penalty shootout

Sporting CP is the winner of the second edition of Liga Portugal Legends! In the tournament final, the Lions defeated SC Braga in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw in regular time. The match took place at the Estádio do Viveiro “Jordan Santos” in Nazaré.

In an intense duel, Jefferson and Hélder Barbosa put the Minho Warriors ahead on the scoreboard, but the Lions responded in the final stage of the match, reaching a tie through goals from Grimi and Edgar Marcelino. With the score tied at 2-2 after 30 minutes, the outcome was decided by penalties, where Sporting CP was more effective, winning 2-1.

The Lions thus succeed Vitória SC as the reigning champions of Liga Portugal Legends, an annual 6-a-side football tournament that brings back to the pitch some of the greatest legends of Portuguese football.
