Di María receives his awards for Continente Forward and Player of the Month in Liga Portugal Betclic

The Argentine international from SL Benfica secures two accolades in November

This Tuesday, at Benfica Campus in Seixal, Ángel Di María was presented with the Continente Forward of the Month and Player of the Month awards for Liga Portugal Betclic, both recognizing his exceptional performances in November.

In what is shaping up to be another remarkable season - his fifth with the Lisbon giants - the 36-year-old Argentine international stood out in November by scoring two goals in two league matches against SC Farense and FC Porto, both resulting in victories for SL Benfica.

Wearing the number 11 jersey, Di María secured 31.62% of the votes from the competition’s head coaches to claim the Continente Forward of the Month award. He edged out Viktor Gyökeres (Sporting CP), who received 21.37% of the votes, while Clayton (Rio Ave FC) finished third with 10.26%.

For the Player of the Month award, Di María garnered 42.74% of the votes, also surpassing the Sporting CP forward, who received 16.24%, and Bruma (SC Braga), who secured 7.69% of the coaches’ preferences.
