For the first time in professional competitions in Portugal, a woman will lead the refereeing team. Catarina Campos, from the Lisbon Football Association, has been appointed to officiate the match between FC P. Ferreira and CD Feirense, part of Matchweek 22 of Liga Portugal 2 Meu Super.

Born in Viseu, the 39-year-old referee will head an all-female officiating team, with Andreia Sousa - who became the first assistant referee in a Liga Portugal Betclic match in August 2023 - and Vanessa Gomes as assistant referees, while Cristina Amaral will serve as the fourth official.

A FIFA-listed referee since 2018 and part of UEFA’s elite category for the past year and a half, Catarina Campos is no stranger to men's football, having officiated several matches in Campeonato de Portugal and Liga Revelação. This season, she also took charge of a UEFA Youth League clash between Feyenoord and RB Salzburg.

In addition to her on-field duties, the Viseu-born official also works as a VAR, having participated in multiple men's professional matches at both national and international levels.
